Foie gras, a so-called “delicacy,” comes from the painful force-feeding of ducks and geese. To enlarge their livers, metal pipes are shoved down their throats multiple times a day, pumping in unnatural amounts of food. This brutal process causes their organs to swell up to 10 times their normal size, leaving the animals weak, sick, and struggling to breathe.
Many birds suffer ruptured organs, painful injuries, and extreme stress. Kept in tiny cages or crowded pens, they cannot move freely or express any natural behavior.
No luxury dish is worth this suffering. It’s time to end the production and sale of foie gras and protect these animals from needless cruelty.
